Dogs must be crated or controlled by a leash that is four(4) feet or shorter in length.
Dogs must remain in the competition or kenneling area unless pre-approved by Canine Watersports Canada staff for media and/or promotions or other special circumstances.
Handlers must verify and notify Canine Watersports Canada that their dogs are known biters and if their dog is aggressive or has “space issues.”
A dog with a history of aggression towards other dogs and/or people must be muzzled at all times while not on the dock. As per the rules, all dogs must be in total control by the handler at all times and must maintain a minimum distance of 8 feet between other dogs. With that said, reactive dogs may need to observe a greater distance to avoid any eye contact or triggering behaviour. With all the excitement during a competition environment, even the calmest breeds can become reactive, however if your dog is more physically aggressive than the norm, please inform us in advance of the event. We will do our best to accommodate you in the event lineup in a way to avoid any possible undesirable confrontations. We strive to make all our dock events a positive experience for all competitors, so we appreciate your assistance by following these requests to make it a pleasant one for everyone.
