Canine Watersports Canada believes in celebrating ALL dogs! Dogs who jump 1" are just as important as the dogs who jump over 23'! Each dog should be the best that they can possibly be! Here's how the Finals work A MINIMUM OF: 1 JUMP IS REQUIRED AT A 1 DAY EVENT, A 2 JUMP MINIMUM IS REQUIRED AT A 2 DAY EVENT, A 3 JUMP MINIMUM IS REQUIRED AT A 3 DAY EVENT. AND A 4 JUMP MINIMUM IS REQUIRED AT A 4 DAY EVENT.
After the last Jump of the event, the best score in every divisions from each jump is tallied. The Top 5 Dogs from each of the 8 Divisions are then invited to participate in the Finals at no additional cost. After each competitive jump, the scores are entered into the computer and a "Bubble" is made and printed for competitors to see where they stand and it is the responsibility of the Handler to follow it after each JUMP and determine if the dog has made the Finals. Handlers must have participated in required number of JUMPS to be eligible to qualify for the Finals, but the more you jump, the better your dog will get, the more chances they have to qualify and to be invited to the Finals. CWC has 8 JUMP divisions, which makes it possible for ALL dogs to be able to compete and possibly win a rosette. The divisions are based on distances dogs jump. Please see the breakdown below. It is impossible to know if your dog will be in the Finals until the last JUMPS scores are entered into the computer, and a final Bubble is made. Please note that the "Bubble" created after the last JUMP will NOT be posted! Unfortunately a lot of competitors leave before our announcer can announce what dogs have qualified for the Finals. If you leave, you will risk your spot in the Finals should you qualify. People often leave thinking they won’t make the Finals. PLEASE STAY AROUND, because even if your dog is sitting in 8th place, some people do leave, so you need to stick around. Also, dogs will constantly jump out of their division, which moves your dog up. So please wait around until the Finals roll call announcement before leaving! Please DO NOT call the admin person to find out if you are in the Finals. You must check-in with the event admin 30 minutes prior to the start of the Finals to be eligible to participate. Our announcer will take a “roll call” and if you are not there, you forfeit your spot and we move to the next dog in line.
*PLEASE NOTE: You must physically check-in when Finals are called - no one can check in on your behalf. If you are not present we will move on to the next qualified handler/dog team and you will lose your chance to compete. NO EXCEPTIONS!
PARTICIPATING IN FINALS IS FREE OF CHARGE!!!
