Canine Watersports Canada titles are based on the performance of your dog during each season. Titles are awarded and calculated in ALL disciplines each year! PLEASE NOTE: ONLY NEW TITLES WILL BE AWARDED! If you currently have a CWC title we will NOT award the same titles every year.
PLEASE NOTE: THAT IN ORDER TO COMPETE AT ANY CWC AFFILIATE OR CANINE WATERSPORTS CANADA EVENT YOU MUST HAVE A CANINE WATERSPORTS NUMBER (CWN), ALL CWN'S MUST BE PURCHASED PRIOR TO ANY EVENT! https://www.caninewatersportscanada.com/cwn.html Five (5) legs in the same division are required to EARN a Jump Title, successfully competing and earning a score in Toss, Grab or Lure at 1 event during the CURRENT SEASON will also earn a Title. Participating in finals or placing DOES NOT count towards a title.
All titles are calculated before the Canine Dock Jumping Championships and will NOT be carried over.
All Title certificates from Canine Watersports Canada will be mailed out at the conclusion of the season if the title is NEW.
Elite & Ultimate Titles
CWC has 2 title categories for those competitors who already have their basic titles* and would like to work towards something more.
Here is how it works...after you receive your basic title for a division, if you successfully complete 25 more Jumps within the same division (so on your 30th qualifying jump) you earn an “Elite” title in that division (Novice Elite, Junior Elite, etc.).
After another 25 qualifying jumps (on your 55th) you will qualify for the “Ultimate” category in that division (Novice Ultimate, Junior Ultimate, etc.).
This is cumulative over the lifetime of the dog. Qualifying jumps will accumulate within a division. You must earn the basic division title before earning a higher title of E or U. The higher level titles will supersede the lower level titles on a dog’s record. This means if your dog has already earned a Novice and a Junior Division title in its’ lifetime, it cannot earn a Novice “Elite” having jumped another 25 jumps within the new distances, as the Junior Title would supersede the Novice jumps. (Exceptions can be made by contacting Karen (larocque5@sympatico.ca) if you feel your dog can no longer jump the distance from their previously earned top ranking title).
A title certificate from CWC stating the new division title will be mailed to you upon completion. Every successful Jump, you do at any regular CWC event or affiliate event (Avalon Ranch or Fox & Hound), excluding jumps made during the Canadian Dock Championships, will be recorded and tallied and available for you to view on our website.
There will be no title building for Grab, Lure or Toss. *Note: The cumulative jumps for the new titles will begin counting in the 2018 season with your existing base titles already earned. Those who already have a Junior and Senior dog title from previous seasons can still build on to those existing titles if they jump an additional 25 jumps within the NEW division distances for that title (Junior 10’-12’11” and Senior 16’-18’11”). Otherwise all jumps that fall within the NEW distances will qualify the dog for the NEW Base division title with a minimum of 5 qualifying jumps as per normal title rules.
